What Databox is for
Databox connects to many data sources and builds dashboards and goals on top of them. It is a visualisation and monitoring layer over metrics you already have.
What Rankelle is for
We generate the underlying measurement rather than displaying an existing one. The crawl, the cause grouping, the landing detection and the control comparison do not exist anywhere else in your stack to be plotted.
Where they overlap
Very little, honestly. If you already use Databox, this is upstream of it: a source of verdicts, not a competing canvas.
Running both
- Keep the dashboards where the client already looks.
- Pull verdicts and cause counts through the REST API if you want them plotted alongside everything else.
- Send the ledger's own report for the monthly narrative, which is a document rather than a dashboard on purpose.
Is there an API?
Yes, with API keys, and an MCP server exposing the same read surface. The dashboard reads through exactly the same queries, so the three cannot drift.
Why a document instead of a dashboard?
Because the honest version of this has caveats, and caveats do not fit in a tile. A dashboard number with no hedge beside it is read as a decision.
