Rankelle

Ahrefs and Rankelle

One is where you find the work. The other is where you find out whether the work paid.

Different jobs

What Ahrefs is for

Ahrefs is a research platform: a backlink index, keyword data, competitive analysis and a site audit. Agencies use it to decide what to do and to size an opportunity before pitching it.

What Rankelle is for

Rankelle starts after that decision. It groups the audit findings into causes, notices when a cause stops being detectable because somebody shipped, freezes a control set of comparable untouched URLs at that moment, and compares the two over the following month.

Where they overlap

Both crawl your site and both report technical issues. If you only want a list of what is wrong, the overlap is real and Ahrefs has a far larger research surface around it.

Running both

  • Find and size opportunities in Ahrefs, using keyword and link data we deliberately do not sell.
  • Let Rankelle group its own crawl into causes and track which of them get fixed.
  • Take the verdict table into the monthly client report, where the ranking charts have never answered the causality question.
Can Rankelle replace our Ahrefs subscription?

No. We do not sell keyword data or backlink data and have no plan to. Every number we show is our own crawl or your own Search Console.

Do we end up crawling every client twice?

Yes, and it costs bandwidth rather than money on either side. Our crawler identifies itself and obeys robots.txt, so it is straightforward to tell the two apart in a log.
